Librarians Publish Book Chapters

Congratulations to two librarians who recently shared their expertise in book chapters.

Dixie Jones, Medical Library Science gratis faculty and retired library director, contributed a chapter in the new book Transforming Medical Library Staff for the Twenty-First Century. The chapter, "Knowing and Understanding the Staff," discusses how library administrators can develop and motivate their librarians to support new library services and priorities.

Julia Esparza, head of User Education and Outreach Services, co-authored a chapter in the recently published book Surgical Patient Safety: A Case-based Approach.  Her chapter, “Evidence, Information, and Knowledge: The Basic Elements of Safe Surgical Care,” describes how effective use of scientifically sound, fully researched data can contribute to safer surgeries.
