Will Olmstadt, associate director, is one of five health sciences librarians selected to participate in the 2016-2017 National Library of Medicine/Association of Academic Health Sciences Libraries (NLM/AAHSL) Leadership Fellows Program. Jointly funded by NLM and AAHSL, the Leadership Fellows Program prepares emerging leaders for director positions in academic health sciences libraries. The year-long program includes regular interaction via a virtual learning community; sessions during the November 2016 AAHSL meeting and the May 2017 meeting of the Medical Library Association; attendance at one day of the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) annual meeting in November 2016; and a capstone and graduation in Washington DC in September 2017. A unique feature of the program is mentoring from a health sciences library director who is not at the fellow’s home institution. Mr. Olmstadt’s mentor is Michael Kronenfeld, MLS MBA AHIP FMLA, University Librarian, A.T. Still Memorial Library, A.T. Still University of the Health Sciences. As part of the fellowship, Mr. Olmstadt will make 2 week-long site visits to the A.T. Still Memorial Library in Mesa, Arizona.
