We Want Your Covid Stories!

In April 2021, the Library Six-Word Story Contest asked people to describe their experiences with the 2020 pandemic. We received so many great replies, we had to make an “honorable mention” prize category!

To expand on the success of that project, the Library is soliciting essays, poems, comics, artwork, short stories, and interviews of any students, residents, faculty, health professionals, or staff at LSU Health Shreveport during the pandemic. We would like to preserve a record of what our students, faculty, staff, and hospital staff, saw, felt, and experienced. We welcome submissions from first year students about your experiences applying to and choosing a school during the pandemic. Submissions could run the gamut from quick pencil sketches to lengthy essays. For complete details, including rules, see https://guides.lsuhsc.edu/covidstories

There are three ways to participate:
•  Submit electronic materials using the form at http://guides.lsuhsc.edu/covidstories
•  For physical objects, please contact Erin Ware first at erin.ware@lsuhs.edu or 318-675-3374. Space is very limited.
•  If you would like to be interviewed, contact Erin Ware at erin.ware@lsuhs.edu or 318-675-3374. Interviews will be recorded using                StoryCorps Connect, transcribed, and archived both in our library and in the Library of Congress’s American Folklife Center.
